2014 turned out to be a pretty good year! We had a little bit of snow in Athens in the first part of the year.
We didn’t stick it out for long. We quickly escaped to warmer, sunnier, palm tree-filled regions.
We started out on our first cruise (the “Suzapalooza Booze Cruise”) with our friends to the Caribbean:
Our next stop was Seaside, Florida for the big Vera Bradley race, the Seaside Half Marathon and 5K:
Followed by the Sarasota Half Marathon relay:
Once the weather warmed up a bit, we headed over to Lake Hartwell to do the Hartwell Dam Run with Natalie and joined later by Leanna and her son. The race was great and all, but the hot tub and feeding the fish on the dock was WAY more fun! (The water was still a little too cold for swimming.)
We made another trip to Seaside in the summer with Chip’s family. This was FINALLY Beth’s year to beat Chip at putt-putt golf! He was pretty zen about the whole thing, though. On the way back, we did a swing through Birmingham for Chip’s cousin’s wedding. It was beautiful and a lot of fun!
Later in the summer, we watched the fireworks on the 4th of July with our friend Amy…
We celebrated Beth’s birthday with friends and family…
And we helped to host a baby shower for our friends Jocelyn & Ryan before their beautiful baby arrived:
We rounded out our fall with a couple more parties starting with another wedding in Birmingham for one of Chip’s childhood friends:
Followed by a Halloween Costume Party for Chip’s sister’s 40th birthday. We went as Nancy & Sluggo from the comic strip:
And finally a friend’s wedding back in Athens where the whole gang came home to celebrate:
We watched a lot of Georgia football, but it was a heart breaker of a season once again.
And lest we forget the most important member of the family, Swiffer is still very much enjoying his place in our household… usually whining, scratching, stealing the remotes, or sleeping very much in everyone’s way.
All in all, it was a good year. We hope you all had a great 2014 and we are looking forward to celebrating 2015 with all of you crazy people who love us enough to scroll and read through this entire page.
Happy Holidays!
Love,
Beth, Chip & Swiffer
